Jerry (coach) Kelican
Jerry is a close friend of mine as well as to any other turkey hunters in our area.
Jerry has been turkey hunting the mountains of Va and surrounding States since we have had a season.
not only is he one of the best in the turkey woods he is a husband ,father and Grandfather. James wood High School
named our football stadium after Jerry. this is the kind of impact Jerry has on our community.
i just hung up the phone from talking to Jerry. the man i once knew now struggles to remember
who he is talking to in the middle of a conversation.
Jerry is in the advanced stages of Alzheimers. i could tell as his voice choked up on the phone
as we talked about this past spring season that for a brief instance Jerry remembered
the sound of a hard gobbling bird.
please keep this  old turkey hunter in your prayers.
i will miss sharing a tree with this veteran of the turkey woods very much.
thank you for taking the time to read this post.
Good things come to those who wait

Sherrell

My prayers go out to him and also to your heavy heart.

VAHUNTER

thank you Sherrel. it is hard to put into words the sadness that i'm feeling.
life goes by so fast. we dont think about how much our old friends really meen to us until something happends.
like so many others i have lost i wish i could just go back to a time when we was together and life was good.

I can relate and feel your pain...I've been down that well traveled road many times and it sure never seems to get any easier.

We will be praying for he and his family.
It is tough watching someone go through that.
I look forward to a day when there isn't any more sickness and disease.

Sorry to hear about your buddy, Shawn. He sounds like a great man..It is a bitter pill to swallow. Prayers have been said and sent.  :cross2:

The outcome is inevitable, and that is the sad part. My heart bleeds for you and his family..The memories will be

there forever. He will be with you on every hunt from here on out..
