Recently acquired the new Mossberg 940 pro turkey and it's an awesome gun! Looking forward to the patterning process with different chokes.
One weird thing I noticed was the magazine plug (plain wooden dowel) floats freely in the magazine tube and has a rattle to it, even when the gun is loaded (1 in chamber, 2 in magazine tube). Is this the case for anyone else? None of my other turkey guns rattle this way. Curious if there was a trick to it.
Thanks for any help!
Since most mossbergs rattle like hell maybe they did that to stick with tradition. I plan to buy a 940 myself. I bet the rattle is nothing like my 835.
They had to cheap out somewhere. When loaded with 3" shells mine doesn't rattle but it's real bad when empty.

Probably a hair too short. Might try to cut a dowel a bit longer... :camohat:
