Post by: Canteathorns on April 07, 2014, 08:00:26 PM
Has anyone tried fedral prairie storms 3" loads 1 5/8 ounce 6 shot at 1350 fps. I was wondering if they would be worth trying ?

Prairie storm don't pattern as tight as good turkey loads or even as good as quality pheasant loads through turkey chokes. They do shoot tighter than other pheasant loads through more open chokes. That's been my experience from patterning them in 5's.

I've had decent results with full choke tubes and fixed full choke barrels

I just patterned some 2 3/4" 16ga 6 shot through my Ithaca FW 37 fixed Mod. 30 yrds is my max but a nice even pattern!
