Holy crap Tim!
Absolutely amazing! Who would have thought we would ever see numbers like that at 40 with #4 Lead.
If I got numbers like that, I would never look at HTL again!
Nice shootin', Tex! :smiley-char092:

I was blown away!!! That was at a lasered 40 yards. I'm headed back to my local wal-mart to get two more boxes tomorrow!!!
Tim,
The tea leaves have spoken. There will be many dead turkeys in your future with that choke and load!

The way you hunt Tim, you don't need the tea leaves! :icon_thumright:
awesome #'s with 4's
who said lead is dead
you are gonna make me break out my 835 and the stardot to see what they will do with some LB 4's
That dog will hunt. :icon_thumright:
I'm telling ya......that combo is going to da woods this year!!! :smiley-char092:
I'm hooked on these shells. 4s will rock one.
Wow!! I think those are the best patterns ive seen yet with LB#4s. Im getting numbers like that shooting LB#5's, 935,kicks GT .680. Im gonna try out my new star dot choke with longbeards once it warms up though. After seeing your patterns i think im gonna run #4s this year.
I didn't have my tape measure with me....,I lasered it three Times and walked it off.... I'm 6'4" and DO NOT take small steps!!! Muzzle behind the line!!! William at SumToy told me they doing really good with the 4's...guess he was right!!! BTW.... My barrel has been polished.
Smoking patterns! I was getting upper 160's with my 870sm and lb#4's last season. Killed one with that setup but then I came across a trulock fed 7 choke and I stocked up on them. The longbeards are hard to beat especially with the patterns you can get in the # 5, 4 shot.
I shot the 3.5" Longbeard #4's today as well.
835 and a Kicks .680 produced outstanding patterns. Scary outstanding !!
William @ Sumtoy was correct many, many months ago when he stated that the #4's were the real workhorse of the Longbeard line. 40 yards isn't even an issue...
what POI difference are you guys seeing with the LB 4's up close when zeroed at 40yards? In other words....If i zero at 40 will it shoot low up close at 15 yards?

I shot at 40 & 25 ..... I didn't notice any difference. ....didn't shoot at 15 yards.
I shot 20, 30 and 40 and saw no difference.
With the 4's if he gets under 15 I would put a high body shot on him anyway.
To me the LB's are too tight to head shoot them at 15 and under.
Sent from Gobblers Knob, NC
That's some of the best #4 patterns I have ever seen. Good job on that set up
That's sexy
Those 835 love the lb #4s.
What was the barrel length with those patterns?

I'll give you one million dollars for that set up!!! Wow amazing
Good gosh! In the 170's with 4's, look no further! That thing is the death hammer!

SOLD!!!!! Seriously......I've already started stockpiling 4's for that gun!!!
Would love to see 5's and 6's out of that gun.Man you are on to something there.Thats smoking! :z-winnersmiley: Kevin
Last year, I got 168 at a non ranged (my knows everything uncle. I'm guessing around 37) yardage. And that shot was high left with the lower right quadrant only having 9 hits. 42 in the head/neck. 24" 835 with ssx choke.
:OGturkeyhead: :z-winnersmiley: SPLAT. You do not need to look any further, Great pattern, #4's< lights out. Al Baker
I'm picturing turkeys doing cartwheels...
I shot one with this combo at 30 yards.... Dropped stone cold dead!!!! LOVE the LB #4's!!!
Who would have ever thought #4's would pattern like that. Nice!
I killed two last year with 3.5" lb 4's. There wasn't much of a reaction at the shot either.lol It mowed them down quick. No flopping cartwheeling or any of that sorts.lol One was 25 yds and one was right under 40. I was surprised when my uncle pointed out a small tree nearly cut down when I took the first bird. I was shooting them in a moss 835 20" barrel polished with an HS under taker .695 choke and a true glow red dot. On the pattern board I was pushing 140 in a 10" at 41yds. This year I shot two 3" lb 4's in the same setup and got 104 an 114 in 10" at 42yds. I'm loving them too. I recently picked up an Indian creek .675 for the 835 to run them through from a nice guy on here. Can't wait to see what it'll do. I'm hoping to see some awesome patterns but at the same time I'm skeered they might be to tight.lol Either way I just got to know!
Looks great! :OGturkeyhead:
I can't get them to work for me. I'm all over the map and missing my mark with my set up. There just a little to tight for me.
I like the lb 4's too. My gun (835 of course) with the indian creek and 3.5" 2 1/8oz. #4 magnums will average 170's but I have two patterns that went in 180's. The indian creek performs really well with the long beards. The patterns were nice and even.
That a great pattern, the first time I tried Lb 4's in my 870 special purpose, it shot 120's, I was impressed and bought 4 boxes!
