Title: IC .555 and rhino .575 recommend a shell
Post by: outdoorsmen on April 04, 2018, 09:53:55 AM
Kind of reverse of the normal. Instead of asking for choke recommendations based on a desired shell i am look for a load recommendation cause i have 2 chokes already. This is for a 870 20ga.

Just shot my gun the other day with an indian creek .555 logbeard #5s were the best, 123 in a 10" circle. I was happy with that especially for 5s.

Personal preference, in 20 ga it's nearly a toss up.  In 12 the choice of 5's over 6's is obvious.  6's are losing a lot of steam past 35 yds, in my experience.  Which is largely based on small game hunting.
