Title: Budget 28 gauge ideas?
Post by: Swampchickin234 on September 17, 2014, 07:30:18 PM
Lookin for some input on some if you who have some 28 gauges that are semi reasonable.  I really want a over and under or a pump but am open to anything.  And yes I know they don't exactly them away lol, but a beretta and benellie 2k gun is not possible for me right now.  Are there any decent ones for around 800 or under.  Pros and cons?   Mainly be a dove gun and something to just tinker with. Thanks , god bless

The "best buy" on a pump is probably the 870, but I would look at the Weatherby SA-08 semi-auto which is a real nice wood stocked 28 gauge.

Keep your eyes peeled for an 870 28ga.  I picked up one last year for $350.

I bought a 28ga 870 to turkey hunt with.  I think I gave $400 for it.

I've seen used 28ga Citori Field Lightnings in the $1000 range.  I just sold one.

I picked up a 28ga Citori White Lightning for $1400.

I gave around $1200 for my Benelli 28ga Ultra Light when Cabela's was running a sale.

Tons of 28's out there.  You should be able to find something in your price range.

A little tardy, but a Mossberg sa28 is a big thumbs up from me

I would second the Yildiz O/U and add the Stevens 555 to the O/U list.   Both are great choices for reasonable prices.

Browning BPS is a very well made gun. Invector chokes. Within your range.

Edit: The 28 is no longer in production. Too bad, good gun. Might still be available though.

There are now 3 BPS 28ga guns on GB. One is listed at $609! That's a great gun at great price. That's about what I paid 20 years ago for mine.
