Can folks comment on their favorite metal pot for $60 or less? I couldn't care less what it looks like, it just needs to be effective.
Thank You!

Dawkins stoned aluminum in a molded pot.
One of the best calls at any price.
Darrin Dawkins?
Medina makes a real sleeper aluminum call, great striker too...
Dawkins stoned alum here too.
You can contact him on facebook by message. He will ask you to go to the USPS and get a money order with his name and address on it for $50 I believe. Put it in an envelope and mail it and several days later you will get this huge priority mail box on your porch. Call will be in a clear plastic clam shell package with a green scotchbrite pad and a very good 2 piece dymondwood striker.
Well my copper pot from Jessie Jefferson of C4 - Crooked Creek Custom Creations called in my first turkey this weekend so that is my favorite. I may be a bit biased though.
Mike Yingling Copper
I'm liking a. 3 1/4". Titanium in a very hard exotic wood
Canarywood black anodized aluminum

Yingling copper.
Lonnie Mabry makes an excellent aluminum call if you can get to his place. As others have stated, any Dawkins call is hard to beat....especially for the price.
How would I contact Mike Yingling?
He's on this site. Goes by M.Yingling I think. I have 6 of his calls and you won't be disappointed. Excellent guy to talk to.
I ran a lights out stainless and copper pot recently and both were great calls.

Here is his profile here. Real nice guy to deal with. http://oldgobbler.com/Forum/index.php?action=profile;u=175
Paul Hicks stoned aluminum is my favorite. Daddyrat on here.
I don't know why you're staying exactly at 60 bucks when there's so many makers st most a pinch higher. I have the Dawkins it's a good recommendation but it doesn't sound exactly right. It'll penetrate the woods and I've killed birds w it.
Look at Schafer's Atomic 13 or one of his aluminum/aluminum. Blackstone n MAC both make fantastic aluminum's too. Any of those 3 would be better than the Dawkins stoned aluminum in plastic imo. Now if you came across his anondized in a walnut pot, that's a dif story but he no longer makes em and they were pricier.
Yingling and Slaton

I'm with you on that. Mabry and Dawkins aluminum pots are the best available regardless of price.
Bill Lyman slick aluminum is a great call, mine is a Wenge pot.
3 1/4" stainless steel Bocote / John Sinclair
Jimmy Schaffer makes an awesome aluminum call.

I recently bought a 3 1/4" titanium / copper SOUND really good...........
I am really partial to Yingling copper pots. Couple other good ones are Gooserbat high standard aluminum this pot just makes me smile when I play it. I also have a Chris Brumfiel anodized blue mahoe that sounds amazing. I have some others but these stand out in my mind
Lonzo anodized aluminum with acrylic pot.
Mike Yingling cooper but l plan on buying a Dawkins to see what it's all about!
Mark Cornelius, Mac Calls, anodized aluminum in Walnut Pot
X2 on Mark Cornelius in walnut pot...turkeys like it
Jimmy Schaffer makes an aluminum over aluminum that's realistic as can be.
Another guy who's under the radar is Scott Veiting. He makes a birdseye maple laminated copper over glass that's deadly on gobblers...
Yingling copper pots
Lonnie Mabry

I really like a Lyman deadly double for a deep throaty pitch, and a Daybreak shedua for a higher pitch with good backend rasp
You can't go wrong with an Enticer call. He has a website. I love my aluminum and corian.
I've never been a fan of metal surfaces but Matt Van Cise recommended his aluminum and cherry and i have been very pleased with it.
Don't overlook Al Hobart of Enticer Turkey Calls. I have his silver Fox and it sings birds to their final strut. I call it my meat call. He advertises on this forum. And his calls are fairly low priced, $45-$50. I highly recommend him. On his website he has a video for each of his calls. Can't recommend him enough. He's from from Rome, Pa.
Lonzo's stoned aluminum in an acrylic pot. It's usually the first pot I pull out of my vest
Jimmy schaffers Atomic 13
I've had good luck with my Hanks Aluminum in a Paduack pot.
3 1/2" frying pan copper!
Bill
Another vote for the Jimmy Schaffer Automic 13

I have the 3 1/2 version and man it makes my ears ring (while In the blind) it is so loud. Nice sound.
Edit: My apologizes all, mine is Bocote/Titanium, not stainless.
:fud: I have an Enticer by Al Holbert and haven't hunted with it yet but it sounds great, I have an old mad aluminum I believe it was the Super Aluminater
Killed many gobblers with it.

Titanium is hard to beat. I agree.
Another vote for Jimmy Schaefer Atomic 13, and John Sinclair Gaboon Ebony Titanium.
Yingling copper. Titanium/ king wood-Sinclair is gaining ground
Mike Yingling copper or John Sinclair Titanium. Going to be looking to get a Sinclair brass surface as well this year. Wendell Rye makes a good anodized aluminum call too.

+1
Another vote for Jimmy Schaffer's aluminum. I got his Canarywood laminate/Anodized for a Christmas gift and it's fantastic.
