About a year ago I started trying to find the perfect turkey satchel. I tried a NWTF Boyds bag, Tom Teaser and even a duck guide bag in Bottomland. I never found one to my liking or laid out the way I wanted it to be and the quality was very poor (China) in my opinion. I never tried the Brossie bag, but saw some complaint's on never receiving them and the thin carry straps.
Long story short, a few months ago I found a nice lady by the name of Glenda Green selling leather pot call holders. I purchased a few of them and was very impressed with the craftsmanship and quality. She is a perfectionist! Then I went on to purchasing some of her striker roll ups and loved them as well. Some of you have purchased some from her on EBay and on OG.
Well I called her and gave her my spill on how I never was able to find a bag I liked to carry to the woods for one reason or another. I asked her if she would be interested in making me a custom turkey satchel. She said she had made a carry satchel a long time ago for a dear friend who loved turkey hunting and has since passed on to greener pastures.
So we began texting / talking frequently over the phone with pocket layouts (lots of pockets), striker holders, pot call pockets, box call pocket, shell loops, sand paper pockets, locator call pockets, thermocell, etc. She even added a couple of zipper enclosures from either side with leather on the ends (branded turkey tracks) to hold and shut the zipper to keep debris out. The carry strap is made almost 2" wide and out of the same bottomland material and very adjustable. Both the striker roll up and satchel are waterproof material (500 D water repellent coating).
I'm pretty sure it's large enough to fit my rain gear as well! To say I am happy is an understatement and I made a good friend to boot. Just thought it was worth sharing. And it's made right here in the good ole USA! :smiley-patriotic-flagwaver-an

I just got some of Glenda's pot call holsters, and I will vouch for her work. She may be busy making these satchels now! That looks great
I would like to see the inside
I should be able to post up
some inside pics tomorrow morning.

Looks great! Anxious to see it loaded up!
That looks ideal. I ditched the vest years ago and I would be another potential buyer.
Looks nice I told myself I was going to try and not use a vest this year .
That's sick!

It looks great, and to find someone that will do custom work, that is hard to do.
Ok, here are some pictures of the inside and various pictures as promised. The pockets are deeper than shown as I have pulled the items upward to indicate what is in the pockets. The front of the satchel holds 4 pot calls and 5 strikers nicely and firm. Also has a place for 12 or 20 gauge shot shells. Another small pocket for diaphragm calls or sandpaper.
Some inside pics, has 6 large pockets.
The back has a full length zipper on the back side. I use this for head nets or mask, gloves, headlamp, wallet, keys, etc.
I loaded this bag with 4 pots calls, 5 strikers, shotgun shells, 3 locator calls, pruners, 2 box calls, striker roll up, thermocell, rangefinder, scratch box, mask, gloves, diaphragm calls, water bottle, tp, etc. I even tried my rain gear just to see and it did fit, but it was very tight. I would say it would hold about anything you wanted to put in there. Really depends on how much you want to lug around all day.
I spoke to Kelly this am and he was telling me about the interest in his satchel. I decided to post so he wouldn't have to answer everyone.
Because I do not have a Mossy Oak license to produce, I am very limited to the amount the milling company would sell to me. Another issue is the EXTREME amount of hours it took to make this one. Labor plus materials and accessories does not = a great price. I am not committing to making a production run unless I am sure I can get the bottomland material ( inside is the same as outside except it does not have the coating). That being said, if you would like to leave me your name and email address, if I decide to make them I would contact you to confirm you would still be interested. Please send to my email GreensCCH@yahoo.com instead of OG pm. I do have the BL striker roll ups for sale in the classified. Thanks, Glenda
I want one!!!!

Very ...very nice....can you lay a longbox in there anywhere...if it were in a holster?
Thanks! Glenda makes some nice stuff. You would be able to lay a long box on the inside of the bag with no issues. I believe the inside pockets are around 10" in depth, but I'm sure Glenda could modify if needed. Shoot her and email and she can tell you all about it as she has the dimensions and layout of the bag.
Here is a picture with everything in the bag as mentioned in earlier posts with a pair of rain pants and coat. It is stuffed to the gills, but it did fit and can be zipped up.
now that's a cool and handy little gem right there--count me in Glenda
Great looking bag. Glenda's work is top notch!
Very nice i like the satchel
Tom Teasers makes practically an identical bag, if not perfectly identical. I got mine on sale at Bass Pro for $25. I found them online at Bass Pro and Midwest Turkey Calls for $39.99. Used mine last year, it was comfortable and convenient.

That does look pretty close. What color is the wording on the front?

The Tom Teaser satchel I had wouldn't hold a candle to this satchel. There is a reason why it's so cheap. It had no zippers, very thin carry strap, non waterproof material, very few pockets for calls and not to mention the bright orange logo on the front. :) Also, the sizing of this satchel is wider much like a messenger bag.

I do think the color choice for the logo is a bit odd for a turkey hunting bag.

Yep and they really didn't need to cover the entire front with it.

Glad you are happy with your satchel. Might I ask how much you paid for your satchel? I didn't think that $39.99 for the satchel was cheap, but I liked the idea, so I tried it out.
The orange lettering doesn't stand out or affect your hunting. I was quite satisfied with the Tom Teaser satchel. I alternate what I carry my stuff in anyway. I use a vest, the Beard Buster belt and just tried the Tom Teaser satchel last season.
A black sharpie does wonders on bright logos. That's what I use anyways

normally put the old sharpie to my old tom logos and it gives them a nice gray appearance
This is a great bag with top notch craftsmanship. I picked this up for a friend who fall turkey hunts with a dog and he carries a good amount of stuff with him. Plenty of room for all the calls, radio gear and what not that you will need for a full day in the woods with the dog. Well worth the price IMO and built to last a life time.
Got mine from Glenda. Have several other bags I've tried. IMO this bag is hands down the best for all the reasons stated here. I'm sure it will last a long time. Worth every penny paid!!
Mrs. Glenda said mine was being mailed today! Can't wait to get it and fill it up! :you_rock: :jackson: ;D

$8.00 of that cost was shipping.
$100 ......no top zipper
$110...with top zipper
I got bag number 5 from Glenda and i love it...great craftsmanship ....
I got a satchel with the top zipper...i love it..great craftsmanship...a great layout...it will hold everything I need plus some!...the vest stays home this spring!...thanks Glenda for such a great product!
I was also surprised at how heavy the material is... :character0029:
I knew you fellas would be happy with this satchel. Glad to hear all the positive comments.
I just got mine, I'm guessing I could carry 100lbs of turkey calls in the thing. Holy crap, what a bag!
I received my satchel today all I can say is WOW! Great workmanship or should I say workwomanship. I can't wait until Spring

I have used my satchel nearly a dozen times for both turkey and archery hunts this fall. It has been perfect for both types of hunts.
Glad to hear it is working for your hunting needs. You mentioned archery hunting. I just made a leather pocket quiver for one of the guys that purchased a satchel from me earlier.

I just put in my order . Mrs Green is a super nice lady! Can't wait to hunt with this bag!
Don't get me wrong am grateful for my satchel first quality. Unfortunately the cost of the satchel is minuscule compared to $ am now spending to fill it up. And a satchel this nice cannot hold just any equipment. Ie Sitka rain gear, Steve Mann boxes, Frank Cox trumpets , Lamar Williams pot calls and the beat goes on oh well 2nd mortgage here you come - my poor wife little does she know the debt incurred by a turkey addict :santaclaus:
You just gotta be good at hiding everything! Works for me! :you_rock:

Is the shoulder strap adjustable on these? When y'all wear them, where do they hang on your back, chest, side or what?

Hangs on your side and are adjustable ... it's a really nice bag and she does outstanding work...
I received Satchel #102 today & it is one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. Excellent handmade quality & Glenda is a real pleasure to work with. I can't wait to drop the hot & bulky Turkey vest this season & simplify...I always carry mush more than I ever use on a typical hunt. This satchel has more than enough pockets to carry all of the essentials I will need. Great product!

The shoulder strap webbing is cut 58" long. Wrapped with the waterproof material and is on sliplock hardware so it is adjustable up to 55" or shortened, could be used as a carry strap.

That is awesome.
That looks great. Would be cooler than a vest here in the Deep South.
Glenda is fantastic to deal with and her quality is second to none ! I have both satchels the original full size and the scaled down version. The smaller satchel is perfect for carrying all your wet weather calling gear in such as cabelas space rain top and bottom, waterproof box and friction calls.
I told her that I think she has started her own fraternity. I would see one of her satchels at the convention and go up to them and say "what number you got?" Another guy saw mine and he said.."So I see you have a Glenda Green.." ;D
Looks good
I got #81 minimalist satchel and a box call holster in the mail yesterday. Sure is a fine piece of gear and excellent quality. I'm probably going to do a review of it in the next week or two just to give a little more perspective on size and capacity.
