Title: Northern Illinois State Park?
Post by: CharlesW87 on March 06, 2020, 02:17:57 PM
Hey guys, first off let me state that I'm not looking for any secret spots from anyone, so here it goes. This will be my second year turkey hunting and first time on public land. I decided to put in for an Illinois state park permit last fall and wouldn't you know it I was drawn. I was awarded 1st season at Apple River Canyon S.P. in northwest Illinois. Just wondering if anyone has ever hunted in that state park? And if you did how was it? Worth taking the week off to hunt? I know that it is a limited draw (5 or 7 can't remember) for tags that are site specific, so giving out the location doesent seem like a problem. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
