Shot my new model 500 bantam today with the factory choke, federal 3", 1.5oz, #7's, @ 40 yards.  Had 137 in 10".  I deep cleaned the barrel prior to shooting.  Weather was bright blue skies, 70 degrees with no wind.  I was debating on buying another choke, but I don't see much reason to.

Sounds to me like your ready for spring!! Just one question Pabigbear. Are you using a full choke or did it come with a turkey choke?     Thanks,cluck

Try a true glow sst .555 that is what I'm shooting ing the same gun and shell.I get high 190's. At 35 yards.High 170's at 40 yards.

That will work,plus a bit of coverage out side the 10".  Good hunting pattern.
