Title: Remington TSS
Post by: chatterbox on January 16, 2021, 08:05:25 PM
I noticed that Remington is going to be jumping into TSS market.
Is anyone gonna try and t when it comes out, or stay with what's working for them?

I am shooting a 12 gauge and have a ton of Winchester Longbeards XR. But I may try some TSS from Apex just to see what all the popularity is about.

I'm on the Foxtrot train.   I parted ways with Remington shells years ago.

The ammo I saw on midway was labeled Remington TSS, and it was also at the SHOT show.
Maybe federal is just trying to revive the Remington brand?

Or maybe it's no longer available like the rest of Remington ammo.

I will continue to load my own except for the 410 tss shells I get from Apex.  It gives more meaning to killing a tom turkey with shells that you hand load for some reason

With Apex, Foxtrot and Hal's TSSshot I would go that route, I would expect better quality control from these guy's.

I load my own and have 5lbs of shot and all the components so I am set for a while, Hal's recipe!

The remington TSS was supposed to be released last year but i dont think it ever actually hit the shelves. I was going to try a box seeing how they would be the only mainstream ammo company loading TSS #8. Im in NY and #8 is the smallest shot we can use. Ive had great luck with apex TSS loads and would reccomend them. As others have said i would look into Apex, Foxtrot and Hals new loads. But i wouldnt write off the OTC tss shells such as browning & federal.

Keep us posted. It's kinda like a unicorn no one has seen a box in real life...

I saw some today in 3.5" — I had not use for all that!

Yeah, my first year turkey hunting in 2011 I decided to shoot 3.5" Winchester XX in my Mossberg 535 Turkey Thug.  Patterned with some light target loads and got it dialed in. Then started with the 3.5" loads needless to say after 3 shots and a loose filling (just kidding) I was like nah 3" are enough.

Where did you see them at?
I use 3.5" heavy shot 4x5x7. 3.5 TSS would be over kill. Is there such a thing is over kill? I'mma stay with heavy shot for my 3.5. However I'm looking for TSS for my Son's 410

Apex has some 3" #9.5 for the .410.

Still ain't messing with those 3.5" though lol. I am thinking about trying out some TSS this year though. I know people say it is not needed in a 12 gauge but just want to check it out. I will probably like it is what scares me lol.

I've tried the Ninja .410 with my Son's Mossberg and Sumtoy choke.
I'mma give Nitro a call tomorrow.

I've never tried TSS in my 12's. Back in 2007 I ordered Nitro 4x5x7 in 3.5 and 3 in 12 and 3" in 20. ordered boxes of 25... Just about out. Thinking of just ordering TSS for 410 and heavy shot again, because it is awesome in both of my guns. No need to try TSS....
