Cool Ridge Clucker

I've got a really nice sounding double-sided call with slate on one side, glass on the other, and a slate sounding board that sounds great with an applewood striker.  It's my favorite combo to take in the woods.  I bought the combo from a fellow from PA that makes them and was selling them at a gun show in my hometown on Beckley, WV a few years ago.

:z-guntootsmiley: I like Cedar on Gray slate and dymondwood for different sound more raspy, Cedar has a mellow up to a high pitch sound

Derrick Stuckey diamondwood and David Halloran one piece hickory sound great on my slates.

I like hickory, persimmon, black locust, bloodwood and purpleheart.
For a snappier, sharper sound and rollover ....dymondwood.

Hard to beat black locust. Won't break the bank either.

Clay Townsend snakewood striker with persimmon top for me, plays fantastic on everything

Cedar for sure, and black walnut is a close second.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
