Left to right is Watkins Mac ebony/persimmon and Mac ebony/cherry, and Halloran Mac ebony/walnut and Mac ebony/poplar.  Would have no issue taking any to hunt.  Used Watkins persimmon to call bird for nephew on Saturday

Resurrect this cool ebony box call thread.  :icon_thumright:

Here's my Watkin's fiddle. Mac ebony over pear. Awesome sound built into this.

I have an Old Crow heavy lidded Macassar  Ebony over Rainbow Poplar that was my go to Long Box this season. Whether it was to reach through the wind or just to tell the world that there's a chick over here with an attitude, this baby had it all! With that heavy lid there was zero effort in running her and gobbling was everything it was supposed to be. I highly recommend you check out Val and listen to his videos on this model and others he has to offer!

I look for boxes with SOUND and ebony over just about anything SOUNDS great. I'm not a hunter that looks for beauty in a call but for sound. I will admit Maccasser Ebony is easy on the eyes.
We wait all year, why not enjoy the longbeard coming in hunting for a hen, let 'em' in close !!!

I am on Val's list for a mini paddle and am looking forward to it. His calls sound really nice on his Facebook page. I am leaving the combo up to him so I am curious on what will show up.
