I play guitar I'm 30 never had a lesson and in a local band. I play a 59 Olympic aged white heavy relic reissue! It def helps being musically inclined your ability to tell when a call is right or just got a little something missing but not much to plan crap, which we all know one of those! I have turkey tracks on my pick guard!
Pics of that pick guard!!!  LOVE IT!!

I started playing guitar when I was 9. Played in bars from 16 till 23. Just play for fun now. Not a lot of time between kids, work and call making.  I've built a few guitars and regularly work on them. Mostly old martins and Gibsons. Doing neck resets and such. I collect them as well. It's a disease just like turkey hunting!

Octaves, not harmonics, just popped into my tiny little brain.

Jryser,  Interesting to find you on this site, have watched and listened to you for a while at Midwest Whitetail. you have done a fine job for Bill and his gang, good to see you branching out as so many have recently.

I play blues harmonica, have for about 35 years now,  Can't read a note of music, but everything I hear sticks in my memory and I know where to play on the harps to get the sounds I like.  It has helped a great deal as a call maker
