I'm bow hunting a river bottom timber, mostly for deer, but I also have a turkey tag. I had about as many turkey pics as deer on my trail cams this year. So tonight, 7 or 8 toms came within 50 yards and I watched them fly up to roost. They were sound asleep when I left. I'm not sure what might be a good way to get one of those guys. I'm thinking a Jake decoy and a little calling a daybreak. Another thought is to try and break up the group real early and try a little calling.  Problem with that is I don't want to cause too much commotion in my timber.  What do you guys think?

I would do decoys and a little light calling. Just my opinion. You never know though.
But let us know how it goes.

I stopped busting birds up years ago. Set up and call 'em in and use decoys if you like.

When I turkey hunt I use a DSD decoy

Haven't hunted fall birds in a while but I agree with this.  They can be called in during the fall.

The temp was 13 degrees the next morning and I whimped out and didn't go. Then I got a deer with my bow and I'm busy butchering. I'll get back in the woods real soon.
