what is yor favorite shot size and which brand? trying to get some posters back in the lead section :z-guntootsmiley:

win hv #6 is my pick

R AJ

I'm with you on that, next is Win 3-2-6 red shell and then Federal 3-2-6 old pre FC in Federal Premium, then Fed FC . In the 3.5 12 ga it can be #5 or 6 doesn't matter.

In 20 gauge the Winchester in 3-1 1/4-#6 then 3-1 5/16 #5s.Federals in FC and non-FC #6 after that. These are all very repeatable patterns and decent numbers.

I'm a 20ga Turkey hunter; my favorite loads are............

• Winchester® Supreme® High Velocity 3" Mag 1 5/16oz #4 Pb (#STH2034)
• Remington® Nitro-Turkey 3" Mag 1¼oz #5 Pb (NT20M5)
• Remington® Premier® Hevi•Shot® 3" Mag 1¼oz #6 (#PRHS20M6)
(Sadly the Remington® Hevi•Shot® load is no longer made. Fortunately for me I have enough to last me for at least 20 more Turkey seasons.;D These loads are the original 12g/cc.)

I use the Winchester #4 Pb and the Remington® Hevi•Shot #6 in my 20ga Mossberg® Mdl 500C pump with a Swarm™ .555" choke. My 20ga Remington® SPR220 (Baikal® IZH-43) SxS with Colonial Arms .570" & .575" does best w/the Remington® Nitro-Turkey® #5 Pb.

3.5 #4's Winn HV. Solid pattern in my 870. 3 #6's Winn HV in my 1187. Those 6's love a tight choke.

I know a lot of guys don't like em but I like the Federals w/ FC wads in 12 ga.  2 3/4 & 3 in. 4, 5. They work for me and my Super mag likes em.
Spring turkey hunting, I love it so.                FREEDOM IS NOT FREE

The old discontinued Federal Premium 3-2-7.5's.  With almost 700 pellets per round, it's like pushing them thru a screen door.  And anyone saying they don't pack enough punch at 40 yards to kill a turkey has obviously never tried them.  :)     I've stockpiled quite a few boxes...

In my grandson's 870 w/ 21" rs barrel he uses WIN 3.5-2-4 HV w/ a Carlson .660 choke and gets 111 in a 10" circle and 217 in the 20" circle out of a possible 270 total shot.   That is a turkey thumping load!!!!!!!!!  JDD

For shooting lead, my Mossberg 535 really seems to like Federal Mag Shok 3.5" shells loaded with 2 ounces of #6 lead with their Flite Control wad.

Federal suggests chokes no tighter than .670", but my 20" barreled Mossy throws nice patterns with a .643" SSX choke.    I'm picking up an Indian Creek .660" choke tomorrow, so we'll see if it can beat the SSX choke for 243 pellet hits in a 10" circle @30 yards which is my personal best with that gun/choke/load.

that was my favorite load until I ran out and Federal quit making them
I use Federal and Winchester #5's and 6's in my 12ga's
and going to try some of the Fioochi Golden Pheasant 7.5's in my 20ga along with some pre flightcontrol Federal #5's
it's not the harvest,it's the chase
