What's yalls opinion on this sound for a box call

Fl strutter

I want a short box that is not high pitched real mellow. I also don't want it real raspy. What kind of would combo would be best for this sound?

I think the maker, the design, and how it's tuned makes more of a difference but particular woods will give you what you describe.  The ones mentioned above are all good.  Spanish cedar is also a great wood for the box portion.  It's not a true cedar but in the mahogany family.
