I am looking for information on how to better hunt the swamp lands.  I am hunting tates hell in upper Florida. What I have seen so far is signs on the road.... Tracks. heard a gobble once while out there. So I assume they are out there.

It really is prime swamp land and not many open areas.... let alone dry. The forest in newer pines (tree farming) so not much old growth to roost.

Welcome any ideas or tips.

Good luck.  Swamp hunting is the toughest but most rewarding.  Snake boots, 2 thermacell,  and some Sawyers spray are a must.  Find the dry pockets, the birds will know those areas and head to them.

Expect them to be on the roost much later than you think.  Find what evelation their moving on relative to the main water and stick to that. They often roost over perpendicular creeks or drains.

Golden advice looking for hammocks (high spots) and islands in the swamp.
