Too much choke for magblends. See all the holes in the pattern? Try lead 6s or HS 7s if you want to shoot HTL. Both are more forgiving of super, super tight chokes, which the SSX is.

countryboy478

Yeah. I was kinda thinking it was to tight. What size would you recommend?

I tried a .660 this evening. This looks better but still maybe a little tight.

it's not the harvest,it's the chase

Looks good. I'd try a .665 if you have one, but I wouldn't go out and buy one. I'd hunt that.

countryboy478

I do have a .665 but it is a lead only. I might get a sumtoy for next season but I'm going to hunt this choke this season.

Lead only means no steel shot, hevi shot is fine from them.

My kicks is lead only and it's got over 100 rounds of hevi through it.

Looks like it did the day I bought it

The lead only I have is a Remington superfull .665. If I can shoot heavyshot through it I might try it on sunday.

That 660 is looking pretty sweet. I'd hunt with it. If I had that 665 I'd have to try it just to see though.

The .660 works very well in those 870's.
