Jeff, I may be crazy (and don't read too much into this), but I think this one sounds much better than the last. Good job man.

Jeffwhitecustomcalls

I would have to agree. It sounded good that night but not so well the next morning.

I've learned (and this is just my summation) that there's a learning curve to scratch boxes. They're pressure sensitive and can be a headache until you really get the hang of them. I ran one occasionally last year (2 actually: spring creek and older SS) and found that if I did things properly, they were just as good as a good box call. However, when a bird started closing the distance and my adrenaline started climbing, I'd have to put it away. Still do the same with a pot call occasionally but not nearly as bad/often. I just switch to a diagram when things get tight.

There is a learning curve for sure. I have one of spring creeks as well and it's much easier to play atleast at this point. I've only made about four or five. If I can make mine sound as good as Mike's I'll be in good shape.

I've got a spring creek. It's going into my ol' tom vestless shirt for this coming season. I'm going to need another for my other vest. Love my SS scratchbox and it rides in my primary vest. Mike's is perfect for the vestless shirt though because it lays flat in the pocket.

:z-guntootsmiley: Jeff, the one i got from you is great. It puts out alot of volume if I want it to. I throw it in my shirt pocket and scout on my ATV. I cut with it like on a Long box and it works. I love it. It's so convenient to carry with me.
