Here is the picture. The smaller spur is 1 1/4". The beard is 9 1/4".
The two larger are 1 3/4" and 1 15/16"(same bird). The third turkey was a jake.

Those are indeed giant hooks.

The longest spurs I've ever seen were on Rios.  I've seen some around 2" that were blunt on the end and wondered how old the tom was.

We've never gotten them up in the panhandle that long, our longest has been one at 1-7/16in and a few at 1-3/8in.  A friend of mine that hunts South TX always gets a couple with extreme hooks.  He got two this year in the 1-1/2" range.

Congrats on a great tom.

Thanks. The ranch we were hunting was 5,000 acres of a 33,000 acre ranch a lot of which hasn't been hunted in five years according to the lease manager. I think there are a lot of old toms there. It wasn't an easy hunt. 14 people hunted 2 days with 4 of us staying a total of 5 days and only five birds killed. Everyone saw a lot of birds though. Lots of fun. I agree about a bird of a lifetime. My prior biggest spurs were 1 1/4". I didn't realize how big this bird was. To me Rios are normally easier to call in than Easterns. Anyway thanks again.
