I don't know if it's the best. However...In my 835 the Win 3-1/2" HV with a Jelly Head .690 did well.

Any specific reason why you are stuck with shooting 4's? If that is your preference I would stick with a more open choke around the .680-.690 range, most 4's in my 835 shot like crap with chokes tighter than .680. The best ones were the JH .690, Wrights .690, and the Kicks .685 (shot more even than the kicks .680). Otherwise I avoid 4's, nothing wrong with them, I just don't prefer them.

While patterning my 835 and the long beard 4's I had the best results using the indian creek .675. Note that this is with the long beards. Remington nitro #4 produced sparse patterns with the same choke. But the long beard#4's produced several patterns ranging from 160-180's in the 10@40 with this choke. The chokes I tested included the carlson hevi shot choke, truglo ssx, Carlson long beard choke, the jellyhead maximum, and the indian creek. The second best choke was the hevi shot choke .676 restriction. Hope this helps!

undertaker .690
factory full .710
these 2 do very well in my 835
I still hunt with #4,s a good bit, but then I am old school
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I've been shooting an undertaker .690 in my 20" barrel 835 with the 3.5 4shot LB. I was getting around 138 in 10". Didn't try anything tighter since this is already extremely tight. Also was getting around a 100 in 10" with this choke with win super x 3" 1 7/8oz 4's.
