Sight Question

I plan on painting my 870 20 ga camo, but I have it patterned and the POI and POA with the williams fire sights.  Will it need to be resighted if I take the barrel off (leave the sights on and covered) and paint it.    I would think it wouldn't affect it since the sights are mounted on the barrel and not being removed.

I would at least check it most of the time it goes back the same but I have had it move some.
