expectations for 20

Getting ready to pattern a new 1187 20 sunday. Shooting ssx and fed and hevi 7.

What are the lowest # at 40 u will hunt with out of a 20? 120, 130, 140?

Personally 140 is my low. Ideally I want mine around 160-180 with an even 20"

Kind of what I was thinking. I have an 870 set up with this same combo and i get 180-200. I needed another 20ga because my father always requests it so picked up a 1187. I am hoping 150 or higher.

I deep cleaned the gun now twice. Never knew the barrel came that dirty from the factory. Might try cleaning it again once more before shooting it sunday.

I think 100 would have me nervous unless it was a very POI centered 100 with no holes (denser at the POI).  120 would be low side of happy with no holes.  Would feel lots better in the 140 range.

I feel real confident you will be 150+

100 is acceptable but so are semi ugly girls. I prefer to have mine shooting where I am much more confident. With today's choke selection and ammo 140 range should not really be hard to accomplish in reality.
