Unusual ?

I was patterning yesterday using fed thugs 3"6s . And all my wads were shooting thue the target " 4 heavey layers of card board " at 40 yards  !  Is this unusual ?

I was shooting the same loads yesterday and the wads were hitting the target with some authority but not going through the card board. I found an old thread on here that showed some shot sticking in the bottom of the wad, that would give it more weight to fly farther. It has happened before but I don't know how often.
