Those patterns are really good. I'd be very happy with those. I'm at the point now where I've got $225 in shells and chokes with no real impressive results. So I guess I'm beyond the point of settling for less than average results. :help:

Don't rule out the Tru-Glo SSX .670 or the Indian Creek .675 BDS.  Both these chokes smoked my Star Dot the last time I shot all three chokes at 45 degrees.

I'll post you some patterns so you can see.

You can look at these the last time I shot.

The Star Dot on warm days usually does around 300 shot in a 10" just so you know.  But it got whipped in the cooler temp.

Here's one of the better ones from the Star Dot on warmer days.

Here's another one.

And here's one from the Jelly Head choke.

Very Kind S.C.C! I would take him up on this. Its the cheapest way to get some more info.

I just joined the board and thought I would jump in!  I just recently bought a Jelly head for my 835 and am consistently putting 240 in a 10 inch @ 40.  I have a Brileys in .675 that I am going to try as well should increase the pellet count to in or around 300.  I absolutely love the #7s in 3.5".  I have been a Hevi 13 addict since 2007

go with the 3.5's and a 675 indian creek choke. it will make a big improvment. :z-winnersmiley:

you might also try not cleaning after every shot. my 835 don't pattern as well on the first shot after cleaning.

I shot some 3.5" 2.25 oz #7's and got 250 in the 10 with a PG .670 and got 247 in the 10 with a TG SSX .670. Both shots were with clean barrels. Temps were 80* and breezy. I think that is good enough. I'm going to shoot the same combo again tomorrow to proof the consistency. I have a JH .690 and a TW .690. I hate to burn more shells, but do you think the JH and TW are worth trying? They didn't compare with the PG when I shot 3" #7 Hevi. Any thoughts?

the .690s won't put up the #s the .670 does

Kinda what I was thinking. I shot a 260 in 10 @ 40 early this morning with no wind, mid 50 temps and a TG SSX. I'm going to go with that for now. I might just get into reloading this summer so when I find a combo that works, I will be easy to duplicate. My gun definately likes a squeeky clean barrel. I also ordered the sims recoil pad and that did calm down the recoil some.... :emoticon-animal-005: but it still kicks hard. Those 3.5's kill on both ends. :z-guntootsmiley:
