Will this marlin 336 mount work with the  picatinny fastfire mount??

I know I can get the 336 thats made for the FF from Burris but don't feel like
Re-tapping my X2

Can't tell for sure but I think the Fast Fire is going to hang off the back of it.  I don't think that mount is quite long enough.  If your going to go a no tap no drill route and use the Fast Fire Picatinny mount, why not just get a Picatinny rail for the gun?

WildSpur

Not sure if I fully understand your question but if the pictured base is for the Marlin you should not need re-drilled and tapped.  I think what makes the 336 mount compatible is the 1/2" spaced holes.  So you could use that base with the picatinny mount or if the holes are 1/2" apart (and 8/40 threaded) you can use the 336 mount that Burris offers.

Hey Slayer, I've got a couple of x2's I need bases for. What make and model do you have on your shootin iron?? Thanks! DG

Ded I purchased my mount directly from Winchester. Only place I could find a rail made especially for the X2. Not sure make and model they just sent the rail in a small envelope

A fast Fire with a Burris Picatinny base will fit that rail you have just fine.

Correct.  No need to change your base at all.
