Snarer,
Did you get the Carlson extended turkey choke? If so we should compare results. One of the rigs I am due to pattern soon is a 1952 870 3in chamber 30"barrel  12ga with the Carlson extended turkey tube .665. I will be testing Hevi-13 6s as #7s are not legal here in Oregon for turkeys.
If your set-up is the same/similar it might be interesting to post both our results (measured 40 yards at a 10" circle) and see what we get.

From looking at all the other messages it looks like that will be the winner.  Just seems weird shooting #7 shot at a turkey  :-\

It won't after you see that the #7s in HWT shot are more powerful than #4 lead.

My SBE II shot the 6's better than the 7's for some reason. It was a more even pattern.

That's wierd.  I have alwasy got the better numbers out of the 7's.  But there is more shot in them.  But there is a lot of 7's in the 6 loads in all actuality.  But maybe play around with choke constrictions or choke designs from other manufacturers until you find what shoots the 7's the best.  But there is nothing wrong with the 6's for sure.  They both will work great.

When I tested my gun I only had 2 shells of each # 6 and 7. One shot from my .655 kicks and one shot from my .660 jellyhead. So I might have had a non-typical test.

Only difference is mine has a 28 inch barrel and yours has a 30, but other than that it is identical to mine.  I'm going to go ahead and shoot #7s through mine.  Is your choke tube ported?  Good luck

I'd go for the mag blend in the 2 oz 5's, 6's and 7's.

I like 7's but I also like Mag Blends too. Choose the one that patterns best!
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!
