I just got into Turkey Hunting during the last half of the season here in Arkansas, and got hooked. Obsessed.  I had an unbelievable run of beginner's luck and bagged one Tom with a beard right at 11 inches and a spur of over an inch, and 3 days later got one with a beard nearly 12 inches long and spurs that didn't quite make an inch; the only call I know how to make is a yelp on a slate, and they came right in!

I look forward to learning from real Turkey Hunters and reading stories about the hunt.

Thanks!

It's not always that easy. Congrats on two very nice birds.

I understand! My buddy who's been harping at me for years to try turkey hunting has been flat out ignoring me since I told him about the second one.

Thanks, everbody!

Why is it taking so long for turkey season to come back around?  ;)

Where in AR are you from? I live just South of Petit Jean Mtn in Perry County. Spring cannot come quickly enough!
