it was 40 yards measured w/ a laser range finder.  so, it might of been somewhere between 38-42 yards.  also, i listed the wrong shell before.  i was shooting 2 3/4" Winchester Supreme Turkey loads #5s & #6s; i'm not sure if they were the 1 5/8 oz. or 1 1/2 oz.  the only reason i'm not satisfied w/ the PG this year is because last spring my groups looked much tighter with a different barrel.  unfortunately, i had to replace the barrel after last season.  although, i don't have any #'s from last year to compare the two.

Man, That is the best lead 2-3/4" count I've ever heard of.  Sight that thing in and go hunting.

I've patterned more lead shells than I care to remember and 150 in the 10 at 40 has been my all time best. That was from a 3.5" load.

Your #5 count is outstanding for 2-3/4" as well.

mmusso

You're getting better numbers than I got last year out of everything I tried, 3 and 3.5 H13 included. I hate you  ;D

Seriously though, I would not change a thing if my setup was
a: shooting groups that solid
or
b: shooting that well for CHEAP

Congrats man!!

QuoteSupreme Turkey loads #5s & #6s; i'm not sure if they were the 1 5/8 oz. or 1 1/2 oz.

My empty box of Winchester supreme 2 3/4 1300 fps shells came with 1.5 ounces of lead.

FttFttVroom!

When you think about it....the 2.75" load isn't fighting for room going through that choke like a 3 or 3.5" shot column would do.  Less deformation of the shot might be a reason for the good numbers on target with the 2.75" shells, or is that just a wild guess?

Crutch

I thoght that was true for steel shot that wants to release tension loads after being compressed by a choke so they spring out. Good chance I am wrong about that though.

I have a Rem 1100 that only shoots 2 3/4.  It has a hastings choke II barrel with a Hastings .660 choke.

2 3/4 Winchester Supreme Turkey #4 = 68 in a 10" at 40

DUDE..your patterns are great!!!! I would probably kick my wife out of the bed and sleep with that PG.
