Quality costs $$; there isn't anyway around that.

I pay 800 per bird and will have 1000 in my Merriams from last year with a 20" high, octagon pedestal base.

I've never seen an impressive turkey mount that didn't cost at least 650 but I have seen many, many turkey mounts that were poorly done.  You get what you pay for.

This is quality turkey work: www.upperbaytaxidermy.com

The one thing that I have noticed that must be watched is that there are a number of taxidermist that don't do there own turkeys.  My taxi is mounting birds for a handful of other taxi's and he charges them the same as his customers, the taxi then marks it up to there customer.  Calley does lots of birds for other taxidermist.  In most cases the customer never knows a different taxi did the work.
My taxi took his full strut mount that he won the state champion turkey this year out hunting the first season here.   He said awesome video......but is championship bird needs some air brush work!!!    I said are you nuts and he said heck he won with it he might as well kill a bird with it!
