I shot 1 of everything I had today
Temp was 45-50, which is typical spring morning temps around here. Gusty head wind 5-15 mph. Barrel was polished last year, but dirty from last year and so was the choke.
Shots were from a taped 40yards using a lead sled with 10lbs added. 10" plexiglass circle.

Order of shots & pics were
1) Winchester HV 3.5", 2.25oz., #6(black shell) = 121
2) Hevi-shot 3.5", 2.25oz., Magnum Blends=225
3) Hevi-shot 3.5", 2.25oz., #7's = 247
4) Hevi-shot 3.5", 2.25oz., #6's = 218
5) Kent 3.5", 2oz., #6's =66
6) Federal Mag shock 3", 1 7/8oz, #6's = 106(pre flight control wad)
7) Hevi-Shot 3.5", 2.25oz, #6's = 211(this shot was after a poa/poi adjustment

Sighted in and you are ready to go with the Mag Blend or 7 shot. :OGani:

I know you are getting slightly higher numbers with the blends and the 7's but brother let me tell you, if my 835 would put 211 to 218 Hevi 13 6's inside 10 inches at 40 yards my searching days would be over. That should easily maintain a killing pattern to 50 yards and those Hevi 6's will kill that far too.

BINGO!! I usually get 220-230 in a 10" @ 40 yrds in more favorable weather. Plus cleaning out the wad catchers in the Indian Creek always helps. I was just trying to simulate some "real world patterns" Mainly because the temps are usually cool and I don't monkey with the barrel or Choke for the season, once she's dialed in. I'll take 200+ in #6's anyday!

Here is a 3.5", 2.25oz, #6 same gun with a stardot .676=248 hits in more favorable conditions. 2 years ago.

Heavy 6's get my vote ! That's a perfectly even pattern with now way of an escape !

Those patterns will improve even more in 60 to 70 degree temperatures.    :icon_thumright:
