Thought I would post some of my patterns I have shot with my Moss 835 and .676 Star Dot choke.  Now before I post them I would like to say that I have extensively polished my bore and concentrated a lot toward the area about 2-3" in front of the chamber.  I do think the polishing helps the patterns.  And I did slightly polish my chamber as well even though some say not to.  It  don't hurt a thing and makes cycling shells in and out of the chamber that much smoother in my honest opinion.  Out of all the chokes I have shot with this 835 and believe me I have tried most, the Star Dot is by far the best.  But I will show some other patterns from some various chokes so you guys can get an idea of other good choices since the Star Dot chokes are no longer made and can be very hard to find.

I'm going to post a picture of the Star Dot choke in the original package just in case someone wants to see it that way if they are lucky enough to see one in a old sporting good store or what have you they will know what to look for and not overlook it.

On with the patterns.  Remember all of these are tape measured 40yds and not stepped off or lasered.

Hevi-13 3.5" 2.25oz #7 Star Dot choke

Now this last one has been my personal best 10" that I have shot with this gun and these Hevi-13 #7 loads.  Several shot are overlapping and clustered together is why it don't look as dense as the 349 shot pattern above.

Now I'm gonna show you one with the same load and the very first shot out of this Pure Gold .670.  I have shot this choke a few more times but none have been even close as good.  So again this Pure Gold choke is not nearly as impressive just so you know.

Here's the same load and with a TruGlo SSX .670 on a very cool 45 degree day.  This choke actually out shot my Star Dot in this temp.  Very surprised.

Now I had a Indian Creek .675 choke and the best it ever did with these same #7 loads was 298 in 10" just to let you know since I don't seem to have the pattern.

Here's the Jelly Head .690 with the same #7 loads.

Here's a Mad Max .680 choke using the 3.5" Hevi-13 2.25oz #6 loads.

I hope this helps others.

Thanks guys.  It has been my best shooting shotgun I have ever owned.

it seems as if your most dense parts of your patterns are not where you are aiming. After all the patterns Did you not have it centered?

ILIKEHEVI-13

Quite a few of them loads were shot with opend bead on the gun.  And if you know anything about chokes, you can get one to shoot almost centered and screw in another and be off from the last one you tried.  I have a TruGlo Tru-Brite open red/green dot sight on it now.  The one that is about deadnut with 360 shot  with the Star Dot is where it is shooting now.

Gotta love those 835's.  I got a star dot last season and I have no intentions of parting with it.  Best choke made for the 835.   Great pattern info.!

If I recall correctly, he had a really good Hevi 6 pattern with a Mad Max.
