HELLO

If anybody gets his address let me know. I can build him some mouth calls if he wants.

So what is the most important part then so I can be ready for spring?

Scouting - knowing where the birds want to be.
Watching Turkeys - knowing what the birds want to do.
Woodsmanship - getting yourself there and remaining unnoticed.

I over-simplified all of those in one respect.  But in another respect, we all over-complicate this turkey hunting thing.  The goal is to kill a turkey so all you have to do is get close enough to kill one.  Maybe that means calling it close enough to you.  But maybe that means you just being where the turkey wants to be.  Or maybe it means you getting to where the turkeys are.

So I would spend my time finding the birds vs learning 5 different types of calls.  Learn where they want to be and know how to yelp and cluck on one call from that spot.  You'll kill more than if you walk around blindly with a dozen calls that you have mastered.

Remember - sometimes you call and sometimes you crawl.
