Our area was clear and 99% eclipse. Still really cool to see. I did'nt feel like driving 60+ miles to see a total and fight crowds!

Kids were out of school for it so the wife and I took off and went to Alley Springs here in MO to be able to see totality. Only 45 mins from the house so we figured might as well. Absolutely a great experience, clear skies and warm weather. Kids were fascinated and the wife and I were too. Great memories!

I was really looking forward to it, especially since we were in the path of totality. I went out and bought a fancy filter for my camera lens so it would not get damaged so I could photograph it and then we had nothing but cloud cover, I got to see the sun for all of 10 seconds and that was not enough to to aim the camera and all. I did get to see it when I got dark, kinda neat but I was rather disappointed. I will try to get some pictures with the sun just to see what it looks like. I had also bought some books to advise on how to film it and a app to help track it to help with aiming the camera.

About 2 hours after it ended it started to open up here quite nicely, sometimes I feel like God is slapping me in the face. Most of the time I need it.
