Is the 28 really worth getting? I have a youth 870 that I rigged out this year so will probably carry it some, is it worth getting a 28 if I have the 870 dialed in, plus I'm leaning towards a M2 12 ga with 21" barrel as a light compact 12

I have several Turkey guns and to me it all depends on the actual 28 gauge. For instance, I would carry a BPS or 870 28 gauge because they weight more than many 20's.

I have a youth 870 setup and a Bobwhite 28 double setup. The Bobwhite gets picked 99% of the time between the 2.

A lightweight 28 is a wonderful thing. If buying new, just look at 1 light enough to make it worth it over a 20.

It's definitely worth it if you already have the 28. I load my own but I have shot Foxtrots 1 1/2 9s  in mine and they were great. Pattern it to erase any doubt. Have a great season.

Blessed are the peacemakers for they are the children of God.

I don't have one yet, only have a 870 20ga, just debating with myself whether it's worth getting a 28 if I already have a small, lightweight 870 20. I'm also thinking opposite end of the spectrum too on a 21"barrel M2 12 ga. The M2 12 21" felt as light at the M2 20 with 24"

I have a 28ga o/u. Lightweight and shoots great with my hand loads

How did you set your bobwhite up? What chokes and sight?

For transparency, I didn't set it up. DocHoliday set it up and I bought it from WaddleWacker.

It has a Briley XF and a Carlson or Trulock (can't remember which) SK1 choke. It will do a shade over 275 at 40 with 1.5 ounce FoxTrot 9's and Apex 1 3/8 ounce 9.5's.

I've killed to 55 yards with the XF barrel, and I killed one 32 yards with the open barrel.
