What kind of value would you guys put on some of the early Turpin boxes with exotic woods for lids?  Teak and Walnut combos and other combinations of domestic and import woods?  Haven't seen many and dont know what some would be worth, thanks, JR

Original, non-handled Tom Turpins ??

I'd say START around $3500 and go from there.

Obviously..........there are many contributing factors.  Condition would be numero uno.

Yessir I was talking about original Tom Turpin boxes with the smooth sides and no handle.

If they are all original definitely high value. Not Inman or Hunter, but Tom Turpin?

Yeah.........   If you have one (or some), you are very fortunate.

If you're looking to buy.......be prepared to dig deep.

Did Tom Turpin put initials in the calls of men that he made them for or do you think they put them in there themselves?  I only ask because its the second time I've seen initials and of two different names
