Just finished up my first box in the last ten years at least. I've started many but get to a point then put them aside where they're forgotten. I decided this one needed to be finished. It started out as an all walnut box but really didn't care for the sound I was getting so I switched to a spalted maple lid and she started coming to life. Finished product is spalted maple and walnut Turpin with chalk box. Really happy with the way it turned out and weather permitting I'll be hunting it this coming week. Thanx for the look.

I can hope that's for sure. It already has blood on it. Mine while I was making the chalk box. Damn belt sander grabs a knuckle now and then.

It's not spoken for. I'm trying something different for me and doing the wood peg striker on the stop sign call like DD did instead of the corian peg. Sounds really good but I still like the corian for myself.

Yes it's cedar.

Beautiful box Bill....I know my efforts to make box calls are trying, it is the tedious tuning that drives me batty....lol....if I would just stop when my instinct tells me to. So I have a few laying in wait as well, time will tell if I ever get back to them.
