Hey guys, I'm looking to try a trumpet with a slanted mouthpiece end like on a Cox or Farmer trumpet. Who are some call makers that use this type mouthpiece? Thanks for any help!

Angled is what AGE plays for his personal calls

I bet most builders would angle the MP tip for you if asked, it is a simple process.

I believe all of John Dangerfields trumpets have angled mouthpieces. Good luck getting one though.

How much of a difference is it with getting rasp on the slanted mouthpiece calls for y'all trumpet veterans?

The ones I have of his have split angled mouthpieces and your right, they are very hard to come by.

I can only speak for myself, but I can get as much rasp as you want on a standard mouthpiece. Never seen the need for angled or notched.

No difference with a slanted or a flat.

Really not any difference as most is calling technique.

This right here. Angles are no better than standard in my opinion. Now a flat is a different story. Easy to get rasp with one of those.

Thanks for the info! Still very new to the trumpets. I can get rasp on mine decently. Will eventually try a flat mouthpiece and see how much of a difference it is then!

Try different shaped mouthpieces as well
