It could have been, whichever it was worked together with Mossberg on the 835.

I've just read that it was Federal, really directed at waterfowl and steel shot loads first with the 1991 steel shot regulations coming soon.
8 is 1988 perhaps . 35 is 3 1/2 " shells
Then Mossberg and NWTF got with Federal for the turkey loads.

Thanks runngun, we learned something today.

Yes indeed!!! The reason I knew this is because in1988, the year that I graduated my Daddy actually bought a Mossberg 835 for Turkey hunting. I have that gun now and I have a lot of guns. But that one is absolutely priceless in my book.

Have a good one and May God bless, Bo

I believe mid to late 80's. Turkey loads started.

Thank you. I don't recall seeing them until late 90s, but I admit it wasn't something I would be looking for
A little FYI which many be interesting is that Remington express turkey guns with a 21" barrel came out in 91,
I ordered 1 immediately lol.

I just read an article today that said the 835 and Federal 3 1/2" were introduced in 1988!
