"And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8

Do you ever feel like you have nothing left to give?

You pour yourself into your work, your home, or your family until you're empty. Perhaps your ever-growing to-do list and the weight of what's broken in the world leave you spent.

I've been there. Frequently. In those moments, it seems impossible to offer simple kindness to those around me, much less step out to serve in ways that cost me time or energy, or money. But when I hear that tiny toddler voice ask me for a cup of water as soon as I sit down, or I see the text from a grieving friend longing for company, I remember the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians: "God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

You may feel empty, but God gives you all that you need in all circumstances. The ESV translation says God is able to "make all grace abound to you." Not some grace, all grace. Not in some things, in all things. Not sometimes, all the time.

There is no situation for which God's grace is insufficient.

If you're overwhelmed, God's grace abounds to you so you can abound in peace.
If you're growing impatient with your friends, family, or coworkers, God's grace abounds to you so you can abound in gentleness and love.
If you've been hurt, God's grace abounds to you so you can abound in forgiveness and self-control.
Whatever the good work God has set before you to do, He gives you the grace to do it. It's OK if you're weak and weary. It's OK if you've already given more than you have to offer.

There is One who gave everything—who poured out His very life on the cross for your sake—Jesus Christ. He is with you and His Spirit is in you. Strengthening, guiding, filling you with all grace, in all things, and at all times.

You have everything you need.
Pray as if everything depends on God, work like everything depends on you
