Did some patterning last week with my tristar viper g2 turkey model. I used a sumtoy .562, a carlsons longbearXR .568, and a jebs .570. For ammo I had Apex 9s, Apex turkey ninja 8.5, federal HW 9s, and longbeard 6s. The Carlson consistently shot the best patterns with all of the loads. I didn't post pics of the longbeard patterns as the were all sub 100 pellets

The picture on far right and far left look the best to me in each series.  The middle looked good on first series but started showing holes in pattern in 2nd/3rd series. Overall you have a solid set up. May you bust many longbeards with it.

Yup the picture groups are by choke. The top is the Carlson group, the middle is the jebs group, and the bottom is the sumtoy group. The Carlson. 568 with the apex 9s (top left) had 315 in a 10" circle at 40 yards. Just for fun I shot that same combo at 50 yards  and still had 198 in 10"

I shoot a Tristar Raptor with a Carlson .568 Long Beard choke with Winchester LB #6. I don't have the numbers as the #9 shot, but the 6's do a great job outta that Carlson choke. Very pleased with the 40 yard patterns.

I shot the WLB as well. The Carlson choke shot the best pattern and the highest pellet count. Had 93 in 10". Pattern was nice and even. Was definitely enough to kill a bird dead!

Thanks for your post and info.  I just purchased the same gun so this helps me to know at least where to start.  Can't wait to get mine set up.

Those patterns show that your gun is pretty versatile, no matter what combination of choke and shell you fired through it you got a really good to great pattern with it. What were you using for sights?

This is pretty much the case with all the Turkish-built guns - Tristar, Mossberg SA, Weatherby SA. I have all of them.. very little difference

All are killing patterns, and shows a versatile gun. If you have access to an Indian Creek   .562  or. .570 try one of those as well. Great !!!

Apex 9s with the Carlson's choke and never look back. With the small number of chances I get in a season there is no way I am going to shoot a shell that puts up 93/10 when I have an option that will do 300+ to save a couple of dollars. Congrats on a great set-up.

Some nice patterns.  My wife has the tristar raptor 20ga youth model. I bought the mossberg sa 20ga turkey gun.  We have a Carlson long beard and heavy weight tss choke.  I am trying to find a jebs choke.  Going to shoot 9 or 9.5. My wife wants to use longbeard 6 shot. My mossberg came with a xx ful turkey choke.
