20 Gauge 870 21” barrel choke suggestion

I have an 870 20 gauge with the 21" barrel and will be shooting TSS #9 or Ninja #8.5. My boy's gun likes the .570 Jebs in this setup. I was going to try a .562 Sumtoy. What's everyone using with the aforementioned shot? Not a numbers guy, but looking for about 275/200. My other dedicated turkey gun is an Affinity with a 24" barrel and I use a .562 Indian Creek in the slightly longer barrel. It runs about 270/195 and has a wonderfully even pattern. The Affinity originally had a 26" barrel and liked a .570 Jebs, but the shorter barrel wanted more choke, hence the .562. Would the shorter 21" barrel need more choke than a .562 or less like the .570. Don't want to go thru the multiple choke testing again without the popular vote of those who have already done testing with the little 870 20 gauge and TSS. Thanks in advance guys.....

I shoot a Remington SF .572 in mine. I'm getting 295 in 10" @ 40yds with TSS#9 handloads.

Like you, I prefer an honest 275/200 sort of hunting pattern out of my 870 21" 20ga. Thru research I settled on three chokes to experiment with....the Rem SF .572, Sumtoy .570, and Carlsons .575. I shoot TSS...Hals Big20XL load, #9s.

My gun in particular blew the pattern with the Rem SF and was inconsistent. The Carlsons and Sumtoy were neck and neck in performance and I ended up going with the Sumtoy.

Here is a couple patterns for your veiwing pleasure...good luck

I use the Carlson 575 from mine with Fed TSS #9. I don't have numbers but it throws a great hunting pattern. Good enough for me to only try 1 choke.

I've tried them all and still came back to the Remington SF.

Tried the .570 I.C. and was a little open for me. Sent back to the nice guys at Indian Creek and they exchanged for a .562. It's the ticket. 270 in the 10" and 184 in the 20" with Federal #9s. 255 in the 10" and 160 in the 20" with Apex Ninjas. Tried a .562 Sumtoy and almost identical patterns. I am gonna try to stock up on some of the Ninja. Looks like good stuff!!!!
