I've got a 870 youth with a 21" barrel and just ordered a IC .555 for it. Has anyone used this set up with either the longbeards in #5 or #6 shot? Also I scored a few boxes at the local Walmart of Double XX #5 for $3.50 a box. Figured it was worth a chance. The TSS around here is almost as hard to find as any other ammo has been for the last few months.

I use a IC555 choke. It is fantastic with tss.  Tss has worked with with most chokes that I have tried at least with #9 shot.

I built one from the young model, it has Trulock 565 in it with Simmon's pro diamond scope,i wanted just little more open pattern for the closer shots and it has performed awesome. I'm still shooting the Federal HW 7 in this gun.. I've still have plenty of these shells. I have setup 20 ga Steven 301t for longbeards but have had a chance to shotot it yet because of the weather. Good luck with your build

I shoot an 870 Express 21" barrel with the XR #6s a lot. I usually hunt with TSS but if I'm sighting in or letting a buddy use the gun usually the Long Beards are what's in it. I've shot the #6's through both the Carlson LBXR .568 and the IC .555 and they pattern almost identical with a tiny advantage on the side of the IC. Usually -5+ in the 10 at 40 between the two. Both shoot great for me. Usually around 140 in the 10.

I just picked up a Carlson LBXR .568 from Cabela's. I have been on the fence on getting a Jebs or IC for the longest time. Your post here has kind of brought some confidence. I look forward to shooting it this weekend. Do you have any pictures of your pattern with these chokes so I may try and compare.
