I know ctwny1 and Blackfalcon are, which are the big guys, since we have 2 birds that would be nice to bump. I know trkyklr and myself still have tags left left out of state, so the upcoming weekend is a possibility. However, we've already put down nice birds, so outside of a multibeard, we can't upgrade a whole lot. ctwny1 had a Tom coming in off of roost yesterday that he had been hunting on private, but the bird was shot by tresspessars. Landowner called, and the guys were busted. Glad when these guys pay for this. Screwed us royal though, because it was a nice Tom. Anyone else? I need you guys to stick with us here. We've got a week left, and we are in a fight for position. How high, I don't have a clue till we score em.

Okay Brian's computer went down, so he might not have a picture of weight if everything was lost, but he's hunting this weekend in Nebraska.

I've been 50-50 all week about hitting Kansas Sunday/Monday, and decided to go. I've got an area I like, and need to learn it for next year. Chances of upgrading a 67 is slim, but time spent there will help me for next year. I've only spent a couple of hours in the area, and liked what I saw. Had a couple of birds gobbling, but never ran them down. So, we'll see.

Well learned some new Public Hunting in Kansas. Had around a dozen red heads come into shooting distance as I decided to move into another area. I got behind the tree in time as far as the first 4, but some of the others saw me. Had some birds coming in to my position, but a guy pulled in on another road, and took one before they got to me. He knew I was there, because he saw my truck. Sunday with 90 temp, no wind, and a killer humidity, I couldn't hunt. Heat really got to me from the morning hunt, and I had leg cramping. I finally got out when an incoming storm cooled everything a bit, but after sitting for 20 minutes the storm hit with a vegence and lightning came down way to close. Making it back to my truck without getting fried was cool. After 30 minutes of heavy rain there was a 15 minute break, just long enough for 5 red heads and a Hen to come out of the woods, and walk right by my truck heading for roost. Roll Eyes I don't see any birds posted, so I guess we are finished.

This whole season has been a scout. Hunting ALL new area I've never hunted before with very limited time at each spot. I am now so much better off with land to hunt in Kansas and Iowa, that I somewhat know. I still nead to get some Nebraska land to hunt, but next year I'm buying my 2 tags in Kansas, and 2 in Iowa, and unless I get some private in Nebraska, I'm not going. I just don't have the time to do 3 states. I'm dissapointed with only 1 bird this year, but I still put one down bigger than I have in a long time. So that was good.
