hey there  im planning to hunt merriams and im still new at turkey hunting and was wondering is there any tendcy that the merriams go to and any pacific land features that they may go to more often also. i live in minnesota and im planning to go to a different state to hunt.is there anything i should look at when looking at a map to figure where to hunt, land feature etc. this may sound stupid but i was just wondering

moore,

I have recommended in my writings that you should hunt a subspecies in their native range in order get the flavor of the habitat they are adapted to and where they evolved.

You can go by the NWTF map but it shows not only the original range but also the range where the subspecies has been introduced.

Merriam's is a mountain turkey.
