I had the most insane confrontation today.  My buddy and I live and hunt in a part of the country where there are a lot of turkeys, and few turkey hunters.  So many turkeys (with tags you can shoot 5 per year), many land owners hate them so much, more often than not they'll grant permission to hunt on their property. Yesterday my friend and I were doing a little scouting when we spotted a couple different rafters on this ranch.  We knocked on the home owners door and received permission to hunt.  We asked there last year and got permission then as well.  This morning, opening day, we parked off the road and set up a position in the owners pasture.  Then, just before day-light, the neighbor came screaming down the road, skidded in front of my truck and got out.  This same guy jacked me up last year when I was in the same spot.  He went on to tell me what property was his, and I asked if I could hunt on his land to which he responded, "I don't allow trespassing."  Of course I explained it's not trespassing if you give permision but you get the idea of what this guy is like.  So back to this morning, I'm hunkered down and watching this guy walk around my truck.  I watched as he peers in the windows, tries the doors and looks around for about 5 minutes.  He then walks back to his car and started repeatedly blasting the horn!  After about 10 horn blows,  I leave my spot, walk down to him and asked him what his problems is.  The guy starts going off how I'm on private property.  I ask him if it's his property (knowing it isn't), and this guy continues to berate me.  He then declares I am trespassing and I have no permission to be where I am.  I tell the guy; I have permission to be here because I asked, and wouldn't be here if I didn't. I tell him he is rude for blasting his horn, and to just leave, and leave me alone.  I then tell him if he is so concerned about private property, he should respect my private property and not mess with my truck-just like I'm sure he wouldn't like it if I messed with his car.  The guy says something, jumps into his car and speeds off.  I go back to my spot and spend the next hour waiting for a Deputy to come by and prone me out; figuring this guy is going to tell some big lie that I threatened him or who knows what.  I'm so sick and uneasy, 3 decent hens pass right in front of me (either sex OK in the fall in my area) and I don't feel like shooting.  I can hear the rest of the rafter behind me with 3 big Toms, and wait another uneasy 40 minutes before they move in front of me.  Every time a car goes down the road, I look to see if it's the cops.  Well I stalk up on a good sized Tom, shoot from what I thought was 30 yards but was more like 60, and of course miss!  By this time it's 9:30 a.m. and I'm still half pissed at the guy and worried I'll be cuffed and explaining myself later.  My buddy and I pack up and leave.  I stop by the ranch and tell the owner what happened and he tells me the guy sounds like a donkey, but the guy did call a relative to verify if we were legit.  Anyway, it's 12 hours later and I feel bad because I may have soured a cool property owner with a sweet hunting spot, still may have some cop calling me, and missed a turkey.

Not much you can do about Jack Asses other than maintain your cool and continue on with life.  The only thing that I would suggest is that if you have a cell phone or camera is to take pictures or video of any conversation next time around.  Just in case you need "hard" proof to back up your story.

I have seen guides pull that kind of krap on places they'd like to keep for themselves. Driving into the property when he knows someone is sitting in a treestand,or just on the property. It's resulted in some issues in retaliation that cost them some money from time to time. Clapping hands

In my opinion, I would call the police right there.  Also I would call the Wildlife enforcment officers.  When they show up (if the Harasser is still there) have his ARSE arrested for harassment.  Dont speak to him other than to say when the police get here we will figure this out.
