Ready for next year.
« on: July 31, 2020, 07:48:48 AM »
Well, I got all my gear maintenance done, put away and I am ready for next year. Making some calls to feed my habit. Shoulder surgery is looming but at my age and mileage it's to be expected. All I need now is a dam Time machine. Good luck to all you" Turkey Junkies " out there. Do what you have to to get through it. God Bless, Al Baker  :turkey2:

Mileage is good, as long as we take care of ourselves. God bless, like you I am ready for Spring 2021. See you in the woods...

I think the number of calls one buys is inversely proportional to the number of days spent turkey hunting? I hadn't bought much of anything for years. Mind you, I have some nice calls,Spring 2020 rolls around with fewer days traveling to turkey hunt and I have been buying calls and lusting for more. I also bought another .410 and have enough TSS to never be able to shoot even if I'm doing cartwheels at 100 and hunting all over creation. What were once vices are now habits!!

Just change the oil and keep the tires rotated and you will be good.  ;D

Best of luck on the shoulder surgery, been there, done that.

Went thru the vest last week, checking for broke items, as most of my calls are old, like me. Just turned 84; all my turkey hunting buddies are gone now. So, I cleaned-up the box-calls and a couple of scratchers and two ol ' real slate calls, plannin' to make it another year in 2021

Best of luck for the rest of this bunch for the rest of the year.

I think about the previous season maybe everyday and reflect on it and think about how to hit next season. Just bought a new call today actually.
