Anyone tried any of Yildiz sxs? I’m thinking about a 410?

SxS will vary in POI side to side. The spread is wider with hard shot than lead shot. People generally want one barrel tight and sight in for that barrel. The other they choke open and let the spread account for the barrel being off.  With a .410 you don't really have enough shot for that open barrel. Maybe Fox Trot's 1oz load, but... I'd look at 28 gauge minumum.

On an O/U your spread is vertical. Aim at head dead on with top barrel and the bottom will strike in the neck. No problem. Yildiz .410 is on a baby frame. Their 28ga in on the 20ga frame. No point in the 28ga when they sell a short 20ga of the same weight.

As for quality of Yildiz, I've had good luck with three. The first had a couple of problems but being able to drop it off and pick it up at the Academy gun counter for repair shipping is unbeatable.

My main turkey killer is a 20ga Yildiz O/U. Has been for about eight years. I have loads of confidence in that gun. I have not had a bird escape that gun. The past few years I have killed most birds with a Yildiz single barrel .410. I like it a lot, but it is easy to miss with. A .410 double would be the similar due to the overall size of the pattern and lack of shot for opening the core of the pattern.

If I didn't already have the 20ga and the single .410 I'd be looking at a 5# 28ga O/U.

Any problems finding chokes?
If I read correctly, they use the Mobil thread pattern?

You bring up great points on the poi being potentially off to one side or the other.

The sxs just has an awesome feel to it. I’m going to pick both of them up again today and see what feel is like. I believe you can file chokes to change poi. I saw one fella that has an adjustable sight installed for one barrel and an open choke for the other barrel.

I currently own a couple of 410’s and don’t have any 28’s anymore so there potential I may spring for the 28 o/u.

The mobile choke thing with Yildiz is a translation issue. They just mean you can move the chokes as in they are changeable. Yildiz has their own thread pattern. I haven't bought one for .410, but I understand they are available from some of the choke makers. The one I have in my Yildiz single is SumToy's own pattern.

I have not been able to shoot it yet. I need to get some turkey chokes and I hope to work on getting it set up this fall some time.

Finally got to shoot it today. Point of aim seems fine with # 6 bird shot at 20 steps. Maybe a touch low with tss at 25 yards with factory improved choke.

I am going to get some Indian creek tunes and shoot it more some time around Thanksgiving or Christmas.

No issues noticed today. Trigger seems to be tight, but not heavy. No creep noticed. Overall very nice gun and satisfied to this point.

Indian creek .390 and .385 arrived yesterday.

Hoping to shoot before Christmas some time for patterning.

I have a little yildiz youth 20 o/u. I shoot Sumtoy chokes. Great little gun that will thump a turkey.

190 with the .385 in the right barrel. Pattern center approximately 4” lower than POA.
170 with the .390 in the left barrel. Pattern center low and right of POA.

Very happy with pattern density.
Going to swap chokes to barrels and see what that does if anything. More to come after Christmas will be my next chance to shoot.

9.5’s in a 7/8 oz load with full brass hulls.
