Federal Grand slam
« on: April 05, 2020, 09:58:18 AM »
A while back I tried these loads. I’m not as crazy as some guys but this is 5s at 40 yards.
All the ranges are closed so I was walking up n down a farm hill and unrested.
Dirty gun as well because I was shooting up close first than stretched out.

Not bad, it`s that new flex control wad deal i`m having a problem with. The formal federals shoot through my 835 like cake and ice cream goes over at a birthday party. Acts like a complete different load. Used 3 chokes and get no where near a pattern like that. So now im trying the winchesters ! Maybe i have to go to a real tight choke to overcome the wad. I`ll try sometime. Thank you

Last year we patterned em w a few guns. None mine so I don’t remember constriction. There was at least one 20ga there too. They all threw good patterns imo. Wish I had pics to show you but I don’t

the gs work best for me for lead loads. shot the original fc wads ip until this year.  can't find the #6s anymore so i went to gs as the replacement. they put twice as many pellets in a 10 inch circle than the xrs  for me with a Carlson. 650 longbeard choke out of a sbe

you know in this day and age, some hunters just don't believe lead will still kill a bird. can you believe that?
